CVBCA SPONSORED EVENT

CVBCA has sponsored an Annual 5K Walk/Run since 1997. We, along with our community look forward to this every year. Our aim is to raise awareness about breast cancer and promote early detection through mammograms and education. Join us, as we come together as a community, to show our love and support to those affected by the disease.

Information about CVBCA 5K Walk/Run: Our Event takes place in downtown Chambersburg, PA on Rhodes Drive. The 5K will begin at 10:00 AM, but you will want to arrive early (by 9:30) for our Opening Ceremony. We do offer onsite registration starting at 8:30. First, we encourage all the walkers and runners to spend a few minutes “warming up” to some lively musical selections. The “Pink Warriors” in the crowd are then invited to come forward for a special time of honor and prayer.  It is beautiful to see all our Warriors, Thrivers and Survivors courageous smiles in the crowd. Encourage family members and friends to join you in this walk and allow us to capture your moment at the photo booth! Face Painting will also be available.  As we close out our opening ceremony, we ask that you join us in prayer and in a moment of silent to those who lost their battle with this disease. As always we end by asking for a CURE! 

When it is time for the 5K to begin, the serious runners line up at the front of the crowd, followed by the walkers, those pushing baby strollers, and those in wheelchairs. Friendly dogs are welcome, but owners are responsible for cleaning up any mess.
